It's a stark warning to anyone who thinks they'll be 'alright'.

In his exact words this double-dip is going to fall harder and cut deeper than ever before.

"This recession is like a Cancer, the worst thing you can do is think it will just go away. Prepare yourself and protect what you have"

I'm just lucky I work for a company thats more cash rich than the American Government, but worrying times for the world.

But if no ones got any money cos no ones got jobs no one can buy an iphone or a macbook so you'll loose your job too, worrying time for everyone but like I say, only if your hanging on to the old way.

Alessio Rastani lives in the stockbroker belt of Bexleyheath. He is not Nick Leeson or Kweku Adobli but ol AR record trading wise does not seem that good if the figures in the Torygraph are correct "He is a business owner, a 99pc shareholder in public speaking venture Santoro Projects. Its most recent accounts show cash in the bank of £985. After four years trading net assets are £10,048 - in the red. "

And not 'farting round the camp fire' is precisely the reason where in this mess all over again.

The Banks gambled and lost, our Government asked us to bail them out and we did - at the expense of all our friends and families jobs, homes and savings. All this while we watched Sir Fred Godwin (only 1 of many) walk away with an obscene golden handshake after plummeting RBS into the abyss and run to France with his pension completely in tact.

The Government promised tighter rules and reform around the Banking system and the Banks kindly threatened to take there business overseas. Our Government grew scared and left the Banks to carry on gambling away all our money. They continued to loose and we are now £1.1 trillion in debt as a Nation, which means every household will pay over £2,000 this year, just to cover the interest.

We reached a 17 year high in unemployment last week and job prospects will only become bleaker and bleaker. I read a piece on the front page of the Metro this morning; 500 people turned up for 20'odd jobs at a Poundland store?

Do we seriously not give a fuck about all of this? Some of the comments in this thread have been quite funny and in I know in total jest, but the the sheer ignorance of others genuinely scares me.

But their aggressive tactics in the market place show they're ultimately just the same as any other greedy company really just a lot more shiny but just as willing to sack people off if their profits drop.

I totally agree, it's how businesses work. What I'm saying is as a company that wont happen any time soon... at all for that matter.

Were the 2nd largest company in the world and growing year-on-year dramatically even through recession.

To put thing in perspective: Theres 80+ staff employed at the Eldon Square store alone, I have personally generated over £500,000 of revenue in our last financial year (October to October - American FY) for the Company. Thats just 1 of 80 people. Times that by the 34 stores we have UK wide and the 300+ stores we have worldwide.

Even if this recession lasted another 4 years, I can hand on heart say there's not another company out there that can offer the same job security.

    Why would they?

I said I have job security, not millions in the bank.

I'd be more worried if I was you, walking past GM with your swag bag full of bait every afternoon.

Because they are anti-capitalists & your last post did come across as slightly capitalist imo. I don't think you need to have millions in the bank to have a capitalist views likewise you can have rich & left/socialist/anti-capitalist views.
