Bingo. After owning the HS5500 and seeing a single player do two decks in one, midi, a sound card, take a hard disc and cd player etc etc etc, then TWO years later pioneer come out with something twice the price and do less functions .... you think 'fuck that'. Especially when you see that Denon can do just as solid build quality for much less money (if not better) Even back in the cdj1000 days denon did a player that could play 2 tracks at the same time (its not hard, all the music is loaded into memory anyways - the cd spins for a very short amount of time).

Still, everyone will turn up and buy pioneer kit eh - And pioneer know that the moment they make their over priced hardware do two things with the same deck, they will have halved their sales in one well swoop - which is why they havent done it ;) The cost price of a cd deck that has a simple lcd screen and plays off a usb stick must be minimal - its OLD technology. The emperor really DOES have no clothes this time around.

He's either very clever, or very stupid.

After seeing his duvet tho - I'm inclined to believe the latter. Seeing a pioneer cdj on either side of a pioneer mixer is about as copy cat as it possibly gets, next to having a picture of Sam Fox and a Lamborghini Countach on your bedroom wall.

Which reviews would these be? All of the major DJing press gave them good reviews at launch. DJMag gave it a nomination for best DJ product and it won Best Single Multi-format player at the DJMag awards. At the same awards, the Pioneer CDJ-400 came bottom of the pile for the same award. Still, if you've read reviews somewhere saying they mustn't be good, they must be right, even if someone has a conflicting opinion...

As for a waste of money - probably not. When released, it was £680 brand new and does everything your pair of newer, more expensive CDJ2000s can do.

David you really are an absolute embarrasment to yourself. Have you failed to realise that you yourself owns two CDJ200's and a DJM800? Yeah, really a groundbreaking setup there mate. Even for large scale 'professional' DJ's there is only about 200 relevant products you could use to 'make' music. Unless youre best makes with the head of R&D for Native Instruments or Pioneer, there will always be someone else with a similar setup/routing pattern to you.

Come back when you're remapping your S4 with a victorian radiator, controlling ableton with a gameboy, using a church organ for the channels and routing each individual frequency via serrato though your fucking cats arse.

are you simple? do you look like you're trying to bite your left ear and slap the back of your hand at the same time?
And, before you ask, i bought my first 1210's in 1994 when u were playing with your hot wheels and buying mr blobby tapes.
