Its hard to trust anything the government does these days... on one hand you can argue its all about safety etc etc.

on the other hand, its now a well known fact that speed camera's are regarded as revenue generating devices - and local governments are set revenue targets for their areas... which has led to speed cameras being placed in arsey spots where alot of people get caught out.

I would have thought it was a prime spot for accidents - coming through the tunnel you can't really see whether traffic up ahead is stopped, which it often is due to the traffic lights at the top next to the Corner House. If you were going along there at speed I imagine it would be very easy to go into someone.

exactly - like a mobile camera that people aren't expecting on downhill dual carridgeways, walled on either side with a low 40mph limit.

i don't justify breaking the speed limits - but everyone does it and on some roads it's easy to forget about your speed when u ASSUME its a fairly safe bit of road - it's when greedy councilors exploit this that it makes it wrong. Surely putting one of these outside schools/parks/housing estates might be a more useful venture - people might get the message about speeding in built up areas than on well lit, clear, well managed ring roads.

come on do gooders "well if u didn't speed yada yada yada" state the blindingly obvious... slack jawed mumble mumble mumble....

thats why we're talking about mobile ones... fixed ones at black spots make sense.

Oh, not you again.

Sorry but WHERE EXACTLY did I say that, your quote is irrelevant -I said if you don't want to get caught speeding, then dont speed. There is a very clear difference.

Once again you bring up the undertaking, go and read what I said in the thread.

i think the good lady was on about your double standards - u telling people they should stick to the limit from your high horse - yet you condone vicious and dangerous illegal undertaking manuvers

Excuse me? My high horse?? I said the same as everybody else did, so why only grief me? I said that you should stick to the limit if you dont want to get caught...its not rocket science is it....thats not having double standards. I have NEVER EVER said anything to suggest that I condone "vicious and illegal undertaking maneuvers," thats absolute shite.
