Yep, things started to detriorate after the gulf war, but there was still regular tea parties and other social events between us n them as recently as kosovo.

Think 93 saw the first attacks against the US (wtc bombing), then in 96 he officially declared war on the US... Since 96 we've pretty muched wiped our hands of him :D (cept 4 the odd occassion)

Al Queda's aim as far as I understand was always to remove non-muslims from muslim countries, this started with the russians from chechnya and afghanistan (this suited the US so they were trained).... However when the US invaded Iraq then betrayed the sunni muslims I think this caused big problems for al queda (this is personal opinions)...

Al Queda also strongly opposed many of the governments that ruled muslim countries they felt they'd sold out their people for western values (saudi is a great example of this)...

Al Queda's aim has always been to unite the muslim nations under one government, America and American capitalist influence are now the biggest obstacle in Al Queda's ultimate goal... i believe this is why they have turned on them... however this is just a personal opinion.

America are now a bigger threat than asset.

You wonder why we bothered helping the KLA when your read the following:

The U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said in a recent report that drug smuggling organizations composed of Kosovo's ethnic Albanians were considered "second only to Turkish gangs as the predominant heroin smugglers along the Balkan Route." Greek Interpol representatives have called Kosovo's ethnic Albanians "the primary sources of supply for cocaine and heroin in that country."

France's Geopolitical Observatory of Drugs said the KLA was a key player in the rapidly expanding drugs-for-arms business and helped transport $2 billion in drugs a year into Western Europe. German drug agents said $1.5 billion in drug profits is laundered annually by Kosovo smugglers, through as many as 200 private banks or currency-exchange offices.

Jane's Intelligence Review estimated in March that drug sales could have netted the KLA profits in the "high tens of millions of dollars." It said the KLA had rearmed itself for a spring offensive with the aid of drug money, along with donations from Albanians in Western Europe and the United States.

That is part of the reason, so im told. the security in Britain is so high it makes it very hard to attack british targets over here, thats why the British embasy in Turkey was attacked rather than a mainland target

just what im told. But i do know that calls/ internet searches etc are monitored for specific words and a log is kept of how often people use them or look them up.

If there's deemed to be to many searches or conversations useing them the person is investigated.

so be careful what you say! :p

Spain is at one point in the country only 8 miles away from Morocco, were a bit further. I think that's the main difference.
