move nearer work - move out

dont get a loan u tool, you'll just spend the rest of your life in a vicious cycle trying to pay it back... do you really need a car? sponge off ur mates for lifts... ffs buses are shit but they're better than the stupid amount of insurance / petrol / tax / service ur gonna have to pay let alone the actual price of the trotter-mobile ur undoubtedly gonna buy ;)

it doesnt take rocket science to work out if u cant afford to get one - then you dont need one....

half the journeys people make by car are ones u could do for half the price on public transport / walkin...

serious tho nass... loans = :bang:  and

i did it when i was 18 to get a phone contract - id just moved down south and wasnt on the electoral roll... that was all it was...

the equifax file contains all kinds of ridiculous stuff about you -your family - and the people who have lived at your address in the past.. do they still black list houses?

nass - check ur on the electoral roll - it could be that... :)

-infact uve just turned 18 so its highly likely its that uve not been put on or it hasnt been updated...

applying for your credit file doesn't affect your credit rating, it is just a list of info held by equifax/experian. They aren't the ones who credit score, they just have the info so lender can..

if there is info on there that is incorrect you can contact the lender concerned and ask them to contact equifax and have it removed...you can also have a 200 word 'notice of correction' put on your credit file, as long as it isn't untrue or 'frivilous'.

When I bought a car last year the garage ran me through loadsa lender, 8 credit checks IN ONE DAY which totally shafted my rating.

I contacted all the lenders concerned, explained the situation and arranged to have any surplus checks removed. Some of the lenders denied you could even do this, but if they can make exessive checks you can...

it's worth trying a few different credit agencies to see the full range of info that is held - equifax and experian are the main ones.

Building good credit does take a while, it's took me a year before I got mine to a reasonable level and I have my own place...

    Good luck!

You can have your credit file disassociated from the other people in your house if they are stopping you getting credit.

    Do as Sleepy/Jane says.

Not when the a/c has been closed. The transaction would be declined. It takes a while to close the a/c incase there is anything pending , the timescale depends on the company, but they cant keep using ur card yrs later. :)

Unless theyve changed something in the past 6mths :D

nass - from experience of bein 18 and not gettin credit - first thing to do is ring up the council and check ur on the electoral role - with out this you wont even have a credit history and therefore will be rejected... could be as simple as that...
