Thats like justifying beating up charva's cos they beat up other people... the law shouldn't be tainted with vengence.

We're a civilised society - do you not see the hypocricy in killing someone for murder? Your playing god and just like the murder has no right to take someones life - you have no right to take someones life.

Yes but not for murder because you have to pretty sick to murder someone in the first place!

And even if he didnt murder them he has to be pretty sick to take their bodies away and burn them!

To be honest I think life in prison (with no chance of being released) is a far scarier prospect that being executed. Just my opinion...

Yeah that might be the case but why should we pay our taxes for them to be locked up in a nice cell with decent meals.!

Our system needs to be re considered and the prisons need to be looked at!

Thats a pretty good point but most the time when they do get life they get released and prison aint that bad. Free gym, free meals and college coarses and wen ur released all your debt is cleared!

Repeat offenders are at an all time high, the crim's just laugh in the face of Probation Officers.

Mind you I cant complain that much about the Probation Service after all they are my departments biggest customer at the moment.

I'm gald you don't work in government, you'd have parents beating kids, immigrants shipped off to some island and gassed, innocents getting executed on saville row :D

Capital punishment degrades civilised society, how is the world a better place by executing someone? And please don't insult the human race by saying it saves us £££'s, if that is your real arguement your putting money above human life - which I find as disturbing as murder.

Capitol Punishment isn't a deterrent, just look at america they have far more mruders than us, so we know it wont put people off killing.

In a mordern civilised world there is no justification for murder.

You said you believe in rehabilitation, at what point should the punishing stop and the rehabilitating begin?

I don't think this is a problem with prison being an "easy ride." I think this is a fundamental problem with our society. The kind of people who are repeat offending (and am assuming these crimes are more along the lines of theft etc., as opposed to horriffic crimes like Huntley's), are the kind of people who are brought up to believe it's OK to commit these crimes. The worrying this is this group seems to be growing and growing.
