HABIT PRESENT SECRETSUNDAZE | FRIDAY 24th OCTOBER | COSMIC B

Habit is proud to host a club night that has changed the face of UK clubbing, celebrating Volume 2 of their excellent mix series.

    Room one:

SECRETSUNDAZE FEAT GILES SMITH (Dessous) & JAMES PRIESTLEY (Simple)

    ALL NIGHT LONG.

secretsundaze is the brainchild of residents and promoters Giles Smith and James Priestley. Starting life in the summer of 2002 it took a healthy dose of inspiration from outdoor parties in Ibiza where the pair had been going for many years. In a very short space of time it became the talk of London amongst the media and clued up party people alike. Taking daytime partying to a new level with its uncompromising music policy, use of quirky, original venues often with outdoor areas. Time Out stated that 'secretsundaze has changed the face of daytime clubbing'. In 2005 Mixmag also crowned them club of the year. Musically the party has always focused on underground House and Techno in it¹s various guises. The duo were amongst the first in the UK to book the likes of Steve Bug, Luciano and Ricardo Villalobos, (2 of whom personally requested to play at secretsundaze). However despite attracting such big hitters they have also introduced many lesser known artists to the UK, with a tradition of breaking new artists, often being two steps ahead with bookings bringing over the likes of Guido Schneider, Cassy, Matthias Tanzmann and Rhadoo, for their debut UK sets.

Secretsundaze have also guested at some of Europe's top clubs. Highlights include Panorama Bar in Berlin, Robert Johnson and Monza in Frankfurt, Magazzini Generali in Milan, City Hall in Barcelona, 11 in Amsterdam, Tribal Sessions in Manchester and Back to Basics in Leeds. Giles and James have also found the time to make inroads into production, with quality releases on Dessous, Compost, Simple and Buzzin Fly already between them.

    In the Boudour:

    IAN BLEVINS (SPACE - IBIZA)

Fresh from another successful rocking floors in Ibiza, we are delighted to welcome back Ian Blevins to the boudoir.

PLEASE NOTE: From November, Habit will run the last Friday of every month.

secretsundaze Volume 2 - mixed by Giles Smith and James Priestley

    FORMATS:
    1 x Double CD // 2 x 12" Sampler // Ltd Digital

    RELEASE DATE:
    CD, LP & Digital 13.10.08

Seven years old now and secretsundaze continues to be one of Europe's leading torchbearers for underground House and Techno. The London based Sunday outdoor daytime party is still one of the most exciting, innovative and fun places to hear the worlds best DJs with its amazing sound system, attention to detail and colourful, dedicated followers. Never resting on its laurels secretsundaze still has a habit of being one step ahead with their bookings bringing new talent to these shores each season.

Last year they launched their label secretsundaze music with their first release being the critically acclaimed secretsundaze Volume 1 a double CD mixed and compiled by residents and founders Giles Smith & James Priestley. This was in fact vinyl emporium Phonica's (London) biggest selling CD ever!

A great deal has happened since the first secretsundaze compilation was released just under a year ago. The label has developed with a new series "secretsundaze presents" being launched with none other than Cocoon regular Tobi Neumann mixing the first instalment. The parties this season have continued to be the talk of town with the first 5 events completely selling out in advance.

The duo have also made a big mark in Ibiza this year with secretsundaze hosting rooms for both highly respected German night Monza at Privilege twice and also replacing Groove Armada on two occasions in the Lovebox room at Pete Tong's new Wonderland night at Eden. Secretsundaze parties have also taken place at some of the worlds best clubs including Panorama Bar, Weekend, Robert Johnson and Distillery in Germany, Club 11 in Amsterdam, The Rex in Paris, Basics in Leeds plus they threw another hugely successful party at 2008's Sonar Festival at La Terrazzza open air club.

On top of all this, both Giles and James have matured into respected producers with releases and remixes appearing and forthcoming on Dessous, Simple, Four: Twenty, Buzzin Fly, Compost, 2020 Vision and Mood Music.
