    DESCRIPTION

For the first of the Nucastle podcasts, i've A bit of a mix of styles - I've picked a few tunes that represent the kind of things i like to hear if im out clubbing - A few melodic tunes, but mainly proggier stuff with minimal vocals and ending with a bit of light techno for good measure.

I've only been back into playing around with mixing after a two year break when i had to sell my decks to pay for car repairs! I've just got a Denon HS-5500 and a DJM-800 mixer a few weeks ago, so the whole thing was mixed off a single unit and all the tunes were on a usb stick - The Denon is a wicked machine, well recommended!

I found this mix to be spot on.
I haven't heard an up to date prog mix for a long time and this mix shows that the genre is as strong as ever.

Eventually had a listen of this before, good stuff Brid.

Liked the proggy stuff at the start, really like Gervais's mix of Just take drugs. Wasnt as keen personally on the melodic tracks in the middle of the mix, thats just personal preference though, and the last 15 - 20 mins are quality, ive been into the Beyer mix of Screw the coffeemaker for a while too.

Good stuff mate, a decent start to the podcast collection
