His mixing is good and he knows his stuff with the DJM.

But look at people like Mills and Umek who mix on 3 decks pretty much as standard, and have more tricks up their sleeve than young Eddie. And then there's Liebing, who can use 3 decks, final scratch, and the DJM to a tee and jumps around with a far bigger grin on his face than Halliwell. I could go on...

Alot of DJs bang on about how many decks they use, etc, etc. But most of the time the same result could be created using two decks, so whats the point? That goes for ALOT of Techno DJs as well as all the bandwaggon jumpers.

In my opinion, Umek is the definition of mindless loops.

Alot of Mills' mixes are way off, but the things that he actually does pull off more than compensate for it. After all, if you don't make mistakes, your obviously not pushing yourself.

Eddie is a very skilled dj. If he mixed techno he would be able to be alot more creative with it- fact!

his techno sections during his sets create alot more interest than switching the bass during a trance mix. He would also be able to do alot more three deck stuff- a skill that really does seperate the boys from the men, if you think im talking bollox, try it!

Good point. All of the thing you mentioned would sound better with techno.
Carl Cox is known for using three decks- he does not use lock grooves

Cox is another terirble example how to DJ on 3 decks imo.

Techno as its being talked about here (looped bollocks) for more than 5 minute is mindless pish, and thats whats the 'in' thing at the moment.

Thats a bit of a div comment, Si.

Its like saying House all night is rubbish.

Obviously there are thousands of variations and sub-genres (some good, some shite), same with Techno innit.

Classing Umek and all that stuff alongside the Techno i'm into is like classing the House your into alongside Hard House, which from hearing you mix, is slightly wide of the mark...
