it "sailed" and it was insane

given the catalogue of problems from december to february with the weather I was rather surprised at how well this went off

so many new faces and sam cook and mick hedley blazed it, i never saw beasts set (damn!) but attrill and les lab 4 played a blinder too.

    best ask forks for reports!???[IMG][IMG]

I think rather than listening to "hearsay" tho, you should check with the wider crowd in attendence.

the event was scheduled to run from7pm til 2am, whereas the original artwork said 3am (which was alwaysincorrect), but the tix and most recent flyers always said 2am.

I had an arrangment with the owner that we would finish at 2:15am so that there would be enough time for everyone to start filtering off the vessel and get through the car park back to the buses. In the past there have always been several mullered people who party until the bitter end so I figured 15 mins would be more than enough time for them to stagger back through the underground car park and get on the buses at 2:30am.

The manager on the night was trying to get smurf to wind it up upstairs closer to 2am tho for a couple of reasons (including his own vested reasons in much the same way they try to pull this stunt at the cosmic ballroom from time to time). In the main though it was due to (a). the level of the sound system (upperdeck) when we were docked back at the boat house in the early hours of the morning and (b) to make it easier to get all of the people downstairs and get them off the cruiser from 2:15am onwards.

I fail to see any issue though as the lower deck was in full swing til about 2:20am , every one managed to get back on the bus and those who may have whingEd at the planned wind-down upstairs werent even in attendence this time anyway.

To be honest I am not even sure why I need to qualify all of this as it was indeed a mint party, with music that was loved by the people there (and at the end of the day thats all you can really ask for).

If you are free Sat 14th May let me know:cool2:

ps: hope the snow bombing / boarding was good

    ;)

anyway with a bit of luck should be able to put out the birthday lineup soon [IMG]

maybe the earl can play s-express "hey music lover" / "theme from s-express" and some "misty eyes" will find it within themselves to sing the lyrics to black boxes ride on time (like in thimblby barn about 5 years ago)[IMG]

if theres 3 rooms it may be possible altho i doubt it will be taking place where we originally discussed as some of the heirarchy there wanted us to change the name of the night ffs. i mean how can you have a tenth birthday for an event and change the name of the event, it beggars belief
