    Squids have their neurons distributed throughout their bodies (whereas most animals have them concentrated in their brains). Because the squid is fresh and the majority of the cells in the animal are still alive, when you pour soy sauce on it, the high salt content of the sauce causes ion transfer to the neurons, stimulating the muscles in the tentacles, causing it to move.

    I work with a load of Chinese lads and some of the stuff they knock up is horrendous. Chickens feet, pigs trotters, and beef honeycomb are favourites, even had a live eel in once. Apparently bear paw is a rare delicacy.
