...and now for something a bit different...

It's not too often I get to do a tech/techno set at Detox but it still ranks top as probably my favourite genre... Here's something I knocked together on a bored Sunday afternoon with some recent'ish tracks, surprising how many tunes I managed to fit into less than an 80 minute CD too. Feedback welcome.

    :) Enjoy - Static :)

...as in "the judge nudges fudge" you mean Jimi? I've never liked Jules - too much shmoozin with his vip buddies and forgetting about the real reason he's on stage... like in ibiza last year - too busy sippin wine and chatting with birds in the vip lounge behind the booth then totally trainwrecked the mix... oh how i laughed!
Anyways Jimi, get downloading the mix and let me know what you think :) It's something a bit different from me...

How do you know the real reason he's on stage isn't just so he can enjoy some schmoozin and vip stuff? Not everyone has to be like totally into the music, man.

I would maybe argue the point why be a dj in the 1st place?
I've always loved music and sorta fell into proper dj'ing in a way. Was lucky that I got to do it every single Fri/Sat for 5years in a commercial/club environment and loved every minute of it... especially when i used to do every Sunday for Sunday Trading and the old Conspiracy gigs I didn't get paid... it's not about the money for me. The best time i've ever had djing was an illegal gig in a warehouse for about 6 hours since everyone else was too twatted to play.... that and a new years day gig in the old rockshots when it was open where I followed Kerry James from about 8am til 12noon. Nice was on the night before and they kept the club open past 2am for our gig... Some good times back then...

Nah gav it wasn't - only realised I copied you the wrong cd after the gig when I got back home - had this one on cd too but picked up the wrong disc on the way out to freaky and scribbled on the top with marker pen before I gave it to you on the night DOH!!!
Have you downloaded this one? not even quite sure what is on that cd i gave you but it's not the right one.

Actually talking about those acts - I'd love to see mac zimms do something a bit darker with his techno style (he is the man behind the name incisions) - I thought he was ok at junior-g but not what i expected. The tunes he played on the night don't do this sorta stuff justice from back then - the two incisions tracks on the mix are well old on jinx records.

Just cos your motives might be more 'pure', doesn't make them any less valid than someone's who just wants to do it for some moolah and a bit of celebrity flange!
