Remember that flight.... ..that had to make an emergency landing at Manchester last october? And it was on the news and they said it could have been a potential terrorist attack?? Armin van Buuren was on that plane from his site: "Monday October 11, 2004 Dear All, Emergency Landing DJ's make a lot of hours on planes, some even more than airline pilots. That's good for your frequent flyer milage, but not so good for your nerve system if you're not a hero in the air like me. I think anybody experiences delays or technical issues at some points in his life. When you're on the road as a DJ, delays and mechanical problems are unfortunately part of everyday life. On October 30th I travelled via London to Denver on flight BA 219. Business as usual until 22 minutes after take off in London. The captain announced smoke in the cockpit and we had to land in Manchester in the United Kingdom. Some people in the plane paniced a little when we dumped fuel above the ocean but all in all it was a smooth landing. The real scary part came right after we landed. The aircraft stopped at the end of the runway and 15 firetrucks surrounded the aircraft. I still didn't see any smoke, but then again I thought BA was a non-smoking airline! We got off the aircraft ok and in one piece. But Manchester airport was a mess because they had to divert all other planes to other airports. I missed my gig in Denver that night but I was so relieved to be in one piece on the ground. It's one of those moments you start to realize how happy we can be with all the safety meassures." Scary eh! Id have crapped myself.
