Newcastle in worse pollution than Middlesbrough Shocker! Nearly all pollution-measuring stations in Britain are showing far greater levels of pollution in the first three months this year than over the whole of 2002. Urban areas with heavy traffic have been particularly badly hit, according to government statistics which show the blackspots are Belfast, Bury, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Scunthorpe, Newcastle, Liverpool, Sheffield, and worst of all, London. The most polluted place in Britain is in Marylebone Road, between Baker Street station and Madame Tussauds, which has exceeded guidelines 48 times this year already and did so 111 times in 2002. Source - The Guardian hahahahahah all you dirty geordies whinging on about boro and pollution stick that in your pipe and smoke it. i will be bringing my gas mask and chemical suit next time i visit the smog-on-the-tyne! love chris-of-non-polluted-teesside xxx
Thats because there are more people in newcastle than middlesbrough and its attracting more people and theres alway construction road works etc to keep on top of our city! They've just let theirs go to hell!
mmm popularity figures from the gov:- Newcastle = 9999999999 Middlesbrough = 01 Wonder who the one is ?????
ah but does that include visitors also? Besides it must be a big enough difference to change the pollution figures! I like M/Boro anyway! It's home to the best venue and sound system set up ever! The Empire!
