Luckily my car is a 2000 plate so i dont get double shafted this time, although if i'd hung onto my BMW i would have been in for 300 a year next year, then 400 odd after that.

Its a pointless jealousy tax, used to extract as much money as possible from whoever can afford it - Green my ase ;)

What do you drive? ;) Lambo?

Its a joke eh ..... its not even difficult to have a car output more than 250g of CO2 these days - granted you can get a smaller car, but thats not a workable option because EVERYONE cant just go out and sell their car tomorrow.

.... retrospective taxes are absolutely criminal in my opinion - punishing people for the decisions they have made in the past .....

I'm sure God never intended it this way!

Focus RS. If I had a Lambo I'd either be paying the pre-2000 PLG fee which is less or like £10 more for the top band. Like you say, it is criminal.

bit mad how it'l be cheap to tax an old runner than tax a newer car . by the looks of it £185 a year for my maestro and same for the mk1 golf - but me bro has a cupra fr and itl be £400 when mine is £205 - unlucky

im sure i read its going of age of car after 51 plate - any thing below that is a set rate almost half the price

    madness.

so moral of the story is - buy a smar car and when its sunny use your classic cars :cool2: :D
