I need a new car, can't get a loan because my credit rating is shit and I'm 18, and my mother won't be my garantoor (sp?) for it.

Have a look on google ya lazy shit!!! Try "Yes Car Credit" or something like that. Or car loans, god knows, but you'll get loads.

Is there no one else that can be guaruntor for you???! They only take responsibility if you cant pay it, are you likely to lose your job or anything?? Plus you can get insurance to cover unemployment/sickness for only a bit more each month.

Basically, a cheque didn't clear when it was supposed to and I went £10.50 overdrawn after christmas. That sent my credit rating down as I 'can't afford to live' all of a sudden.

That alone wont fuck up ur credit rating Have you had any credit b4?? If not, then that will be more of a hiddernece than being a tenner o/d.

I asked barclays if i could have a debit connect card instead of this shitty electron one and they wouldn't give me it because of my credit rating.

It's really unfair.

They sent me out a barclaycard to try and up my score but even then it won't work for about 3 months.

it could be a number of things:

relatives (of same address) having poor rating

bad area ur living

your age - cos ur jus 18 then u havent got any credit history for yourself - barclaycard, capitalone, two credit card companies will give you a card (low limitprobably) but things like this help build a credit rating. keep payments up etc.

prob is if your going in for a big loan at your age with no history - they will refuse ya - all except these loan shark type places who will accept ya but then proceed to analy rape ya!

www.equifax.co.uk - buy a copy of ya credit report for £3 and have a look whats marked against ur name/address..

Am I fuck getting the bus to work. For a start, it doesn't get me there in time (even the earliest one), it takes 45 minutes for a 10 minute drive and it's too expensive (£4.20 a day).

Thing is, going from having a car to not having a car is painful. You feel lost.
