    Any battery geeks here?

an everyday topic this one. Who knows about batteries? Why do none of the sony or panasonic batteries I got cheap at poundland or some other equally as cheap place, work in my digital camera? Duracells do and a few others I nicked out of the tv remotes do but these cheap ones won't even work for a second. When i turn my camera on the red light flashes and then stops indicating empty battery. I didn't expect this horde of useless batteries i now have to work for hours, but i at least expected them to gimme the power to take a picture or two..

Is this a common problem or could my camera be a bit wanked? its new..

I figured out what the solution to the problem would be but I just think its strange that new batteries from the likes of panasonic and sony wont even power the camera on.. my aunties old one was a battery munching piece of shit and that even worked with them for about 20mins or so..

I was gonna get some rechargeable 2300 ni-mh ones or something but I just haven't yet.. the thing I was wondering is whether or not its normal for some batteries not even powering on the camera.. it doesnt eat batteries all that quick and I just think its a bit odd..

Rechargable batteries def! My camera batterys run out after like 10 mins even with the rechargable ones! It will cost you a fortune if you keep buying new ones!

with the kodak batteries it came supplied with I was using the camera for a whole clubbing sesh, taking videos and pics and it didnt start running out till the next day. Thats why it seems odd that cheaper yet unused batteries refuse to work..
