If they are looking to use a trance night name to book the top end of the trance DJ pay scale then go for it.

If they are looking to re-create Promise that was at FUNdation I don't think it will work personally.

    Fingers crossed :)

I went along to the last attempt @ attic i think it was when downey etc was on, wasn't busy like but had a good jump about as his set was mint.

I personally think promotion is starting to go back to the way it was thanks to all the shit people get spammed with on facebook & myspace etc now, if i'm honest i rarely look at invites now i rely on this board and word of mouth.

Hope this does well this time if it does go ahead

    I see Tulip is back.

I was set to criticise his move to minimal ( ) , with regards to his new Audio Therapy podcast, but it's not at all what I expected.

It is techy, but also fairly proggy. Fair play, sounds like a decent mix. Reminds me of some of the deeper Global Underground CD's.

The scene is ripe for a return to old school trance and prog.

Not this fucking wank 1999-2001 trance either, i'm talking Oakenfold type stuff, and the kind of prog that takes 3 hours to make sense of one track played right at the end.

People know in their heart of hearts that something is very wrong, and they need to be reminded why the UK was, and always will be, not only the epicentre, but the singularity point of the rave scene.

What worked then, won't work now.

It would still be going otherwise.

If anyone can crack a trance 'night' from scratch now, they will have managed something that nobody else has managed to do since the 'old' Promise bowed out gracefully. Look at the rise of DS - A case study in how you need to do things in this day and age.

Obviously other genres have different approaches and challenges (although they share some similarity none the less).
