i lived on grainger street opposite ann summers for 12 months, was mint for about 4 weeks then got sick of every bus, police car, fire engine, ambulance and charver & dead beat going past at all hours and the general fall out from the mushroom bar and the bigg market.

oh and the sodding road sweeping machines which officially run 24 hours a day, 1 advantage is that i had the cleanest doorstep in town, well until some horrible tw@t decided it was good craic to spew through the letterbox.

having mc d's over the road didn't help the healthy eating regeime either. the fact it was a grade 2 listed building and therefore not allowed to fit double glazing was a nightmare.

i suppose it would be slightly quetier in those one's on clayton street though.

Living in the town centre has to be done once...... and probably only once ;)

I did it for 18 months behind where the Gate is now, when they were building it - 18 months of construction trucks reversing sirens, the racket from planet earth, someone who tried kicking our door in, the guy in the chip shop opposite trying to strangle his girlfriend.

    Good fun tho :)
