    car insurance issues

just been a crash in my street, some cunts gone into a lasses car then also clipped my mates car, details have been exchanged, question is whats the best way to proceed without my mate having to pay an excess upfront only to have it reimbursed cos me mates skint.

The insurance company may view that one as an open and shut case - your mates car was parked and therefore stationary. Seeing as he wasn't driving it, he couldn't be at fault for it being hit (unless he parked it obstructing the road).

This happened to one of my mates - the insurance company made the third party pay for everything and didn't bother asking him for his excess... Saying that, I'm sure the other bloke admitted liability early on.

with my insurance company they gave me two choices.

I don't pay any excess and go through one of their approved repair centres
    or
I pay the excess, get the work done wherever i wanted and then claim the excess back from the other parties insurance.

I took the first option and had nothing but problems with Bristol Street in Sunderland.

i hope its not the one in sunderland.

They took stuff out of my car, i had to take it back because the work they did was crap. They didn't replace all the damaged parts, yet on the invoice they billed for stuff like removal and refitting of aerial when it hadn't even been touched. They tried to fill me with shit thinking i didn't know anything about cars.

I took the car back to them and made them sort it while i waited in the waiting room.

why would they remove ur ariel when it in the roof and fuck all near the wing/bumper ????

unless they billed to unscrew it

this wasn't the fox hunting incident was when someone reversed into me.

I would have took it to 'my mates' garage but didn't want to go through the process of paying £400 excess and having to claim it back. I'll not be making the same mistake in the future though.

Exactly, they were pulling the piss. They replaced the bumper but didn't bother adjusting the wing to line it up. So there was no gap and one end and an inch gap at the other.
