It's about time Guthrie got a run of games in his best position. He was quality last night, man of the match above Routledge in my opinion.

Couldnt agree more he's been played out of position for far too long, we have a habit of doing that though just look at Milner, as soon as he was getting a game in the middle of the park with Villa he's called up for England. We're still a long way off promotion though, with exception of the Cardiff game i havent really seen them win convincingly yet this season, even last night the first 20 mins were a bit shaky, been looking better since Routledge signed though so i'm optimistic for the remainder of the season.

I know we're only in the Championship and the Premier League is, quite literally, a different league, but I've enjoyed this season for so many different reasons. Mainly because I'm not get fucked off by watching piss poor performances from over paid and over-rated players. At least now even when we play shit (which has actually been more often than our position implies) you know that they're not all straight out on the Quayside to spend their 100k and pick up a few slags along the way. They're more likely sorting their act out for the next game.

I've not once slagged Sunderland off this season as I know if we do go up it will be a struggle, but I still stand by the fact that the drop saved us as a business and a club and I can't wait to have a proper Derby again, if the Mackems stay up - which I think is likely as Bruce is a decent Manager with only half his own choice of squad on the pitch.

For me, It's been the first season in about 10 years where Newcastle have been worth going out your way to watch. We've played some terrible teams but I've enjoyed following them this season. The players that opted to stay seem to have adopted a culture I don't think we've had in the dressing room for a long time now.
