I hope the TEAM get us out of the shit we're in and we don't go down - which is what I can see happening - because it could ruin any kind of chance at a decent managerial career for Shearer before it's even started.

true true the players are there to be counted like a few of them are coming out saying. If Shearer did come in tho and he got results as you say it could be the calm before the storm for his managerial career

Not sure what I think about this like. Hopefully he'll have the same effect as Keegan did last season with regards to team morale and keep us up though...

he's a bit trimmer than andy reid though, if thats any consolation

Hopefully shearer will have a bit more of a positive influence on matchdays and give the players the kick up arse to get some wins to keep us up.

I knew he'd take over when the team couldn't be doing any worse. I thought he'd wait til you's got relegated and then be the hero who brings ya's back up.

Just what you needed like in a crisis. Someone who has no experience and from his time on MOTD looks like he has the tactical knowledge of a gnat.

He'll be good for morale but i'd say thats more for fans morale than the players. How can you listen to someone whos got no experience in management let alone a relegation battle?

It's one thing taking over a club for your first role in management anyway without it being this kind of situation.

There was talks about Terry Venebals the other week coming in like he di at Boro under Robson, would have been the better option.

If you stay up it won't be because of Shearer it'll be because there is 3 worse clubs than you.

Win win situation for Shearer though as no matter what happens he won't be blamed, and if you stay up he can take the credit.
