If I was a premiership manager my transfer policy would be basically to find out which younguns that wenger is after and steal them before he gets them. He seems to find a new breed every year without breaking the bank.

carlos vela is a class act like, pleased he is now finally allowed to play in the premer league!
it pisses me off how michel platini has came out and critised wenger for running arsenal "more like a business than a football club" - wengers money spend to success ratio must be one of the best in modern football

    platini is a cunt

    Exactly.

As impressive as some of them look, save the worshipping until they actually win something again.

Kept them in the top 3 while spending about 50% of what his competitors have?

If Benitez, whatever manager is in charge of Chelsea and even possibly Ferguson didn't win anything for three years, they would probably be given the sack.

Playing good football and being up in the mix may be good enough for a club like Sunderland or Newcastle, but not if you're in "The Big four"

i can see your point mate... but would teams managed by those three even be in the BIG 4 if they had spent as little as wenger? fair enought he has never recaptured the standard he had when the "untouchables" we running riot, but he is still showing the money crazy football world that you can still be there or there abouts and not spend crazy money on transfers and wages

I give him this - he has the balls to blood his youth players, but the main purpose of the youth system at Arsenal seems to be to relieve pressure on Wenger.

Every season you get questions about Wenger not spending, not having a big enough squad, then the Carling Cup rolls around he sticks a load of kids in, people (and especially the London media) get all misty eyed, the pressure is lifted and he goes back to not spending money not winning and selling big names every summer.

Those same kids then don't make it and are replaced by the next golden generation.

    Lets not forget what Wenger brought to Arsenal;

    League Champions
    2004, 2002, 1998

    FA Cup Winners (10)
2005 Beat Manchester Utd 5-4 on penalties (after 0-0 draw)
    2003 Beat Southampton 1-0
    2002 Beat Chelsea 2-0
    1998 Beat Newcastle United 2-0

Runners up in the champions league

and lets not forget things like the 49 game unbeaten run.

Wenger is a class act and his club was toe to toe with man u before chelski came with their bags of money, Wenger is still doing good business in the transfer market but hasn't spent half as much as the other clubs in the top 4 over recent seasons.

Every manager in the top 4 is under massive pressure to win but having a record like this behind you takes the pressure off i'd say more than fielding youth players in a cup, the people who run Arsenal know they have a diamond in wenger and will back him because he continues to challenge for the league without it costing the earth.

Who knows investment talk has came over the club before so if they did get a takeover and got stupid money injected into the club we might see the end product as we did in the henry and viera era.

Enough of the rant i think you get the picture i really rate him

He turned me down because he prefers an average age of 19.
