Everyone updated then!?, thoughts?, problems?. Love the new look especially the media player, much fresher imo & things seem a little faster too Had some problem with the phones time, not sure if it's OS related but the bastard is 15 minutes behind & I really have tried everything to sort it. In the end I went to manual settings but it's still a rather odd & annoying problem!.
Truly awful. Scrapping Google which also have street view was a big mistake for Apple, in my opinion. I can see the logic in Facebook not wanting to point attention to direct competitors with G+. But Apple...? I said the same yesterday, it's just a matter of time before Google dominate the whole social media platform. The already have the best products out there and nothing comes remotely close: Youtube, Maps, Search Engines, Analytics and G+ (which is so much slicker than Facebook to navigate round.) Apple need to deliver something BIG in the next 2 years or they will slowly see the market share for their IOS devices being devoured by competitors.
I saw the rumours around the iPhone 5 (a few weeks before the official Apple launch) and decided against replacing my 3GS with one, and instead got a 4S. I'm glad I did. Aside from the improved hardware in the device (which is a given rather than a feature), I don't see any incentive for buying one. I certainly don't buy the reasons given for changing the dock connector, especially when the humble USB socket has gone from being able to transfer 1.5Mb/sec (USB 1.0) to 625Mb/sec (USB 3.0) without any change in the socket design. Going to an iPhone 5 would have meant changing all of the docks we have in the house (which include two radios), plus the stereo in my car. No thanks unless it's mini/micro USB. Gary is spot on, they've really dropped the ball with both the software and I think they've done the same on the hardware.
I'll be getting the 4S like I'm not bothering with the 5, expected a bit more design wise. Can't wait to get rid of this 4 though I've never ever had so many hardware problems with an iPhone before. First the lock/power button then the home button, then a volume button now the fucking cancellation mic has died (for video recording & speakerphone), you just couldn't make it up man & the thing still looks like it's just came out the box! very unlucky.
hardcore 3GS user. it's like a fucking tank. Rolling back the update next week as I really am amazed at how shit the maps are, and since i used them alot, and the fact that apple seem to love to sort out the american market first and then leave Europe and the rest of the world as 'work in progress'. if google released a iphone maps app and charged for it, they'd make a fucking fortune.
