    Digital? More accessible to chavs?

Hoults Yard is in Byker. You don't get many more chavs in Newcastle than that area. I lived there for a year and I can tell you now I'd much rather the Jesmond wannabe chavs be at Digital than the Byker/Walkergate people who will probs be wielding fuck knows what be at Hoults Yard.

You really haven't got a clue dude - I go to both clubs to the majority of decent events, and it is a fact that chavs venture to digital, and not the warehouse. I can't recollect seeing one out and out chav at the warehouse, from the 7 times I have been. Every time I go to digital there is a lot of them. It is situated in a busy pedestrian area in town, where anyone can walk in, sometimes unplanned and arriving from a pub crawl.

The area that the warehouse is at is secluded, and the chavs in byker probably have not even heard of ot yet (hopefully never). Even the bars closest to the warehouse are decent bars with good weekend crowds.

Your simply assuming because it is classified as being in Byker, it is rough. It is the best club since Foundation dude, without a doubt. The atmosphere is unreal, hence the fact people are rarely moving around the club and are happy to stay positioned dancing all night - what serious clubbing is about. It also helps that the majority, if not all ticket entry is done prior to the event.

However, I am sure Mik and Proudy will again put on an excellent night, and I will hopefully be there. I am simply saying you can not attempt to change facts.

From what I here the Van Dyk night was unreal, and I have also said if Van Dyk had been on at the warehouse I would have been there, rather than Shindig which was unfortunately on at the same time. As far as I am aware, this night has no major clashes so hopefully all the decent clubbers will be there to ensure certain nights at Digital like this will have a great atmosphere - lets not forget, it has the best soundsystem in NE which is obviously a major pro!

I guess you're right. But I've been to Shindig events at Hoults Yard before and really enjoyed them (not sure if you were slating Shindig there or not). I missed the last DS at Hoults Yard because all my friends were busy and I wasn't prepared to go alone, but I hear it was brilliant. I do like Digital though. When Above & Beyond played there earlier in the year, I could see a lot of chavs but I could also see a lot of die hard fans with their anjunabeats tee's on. You're going to get chavs at any inner city club wandering in like you say, but at the end of the day you go for the music, not for the audience. If it's the audience who put you off going to an event then there's something wrong with you.

Fair play. TBH the chavs are not the major problem for me anyway (as you say there is always a decent section of the crowd that make up for the odd smashed pint or spilt drink on your clothing) - its the setout of the club which has always been the major problem - saying that the upstairs room is set out much better and has more intimacy, but unfortunately is not the main room.

I was not slating the dig either - I just like the night to sometimes progress a bit more, and house music does not always do that (depends on the DJ, and I although I had a great night where I did not leave my spot on the night, I was dissapointed with Lawler). I think it will be different story with Sasha though!!! Without a doubt (same if Warren, Catteneo, Digweed, Omid B, Guy G, King Unique, Psycatron, Kosheen DJs etc played - and I wish!)

I was just a bit dissapointed initially when D.S. changed venues following the major success of the first one - but at least following this the two will be comaparable which is only fair.

But put it this way, I would not go out of my way to go to somehere such as the Empire in Boro due to the crowd, even if my favourite DJ was playing!

With DS:NE just around the corner we've decided to have a little fun and give away a few VIP tickets for the show at Digital Newcastle on 23rd sept. Change your profile picture to the event flyer and once we hit 200 profile picture changes in our 'Attending Guests' section of the event page we will pick names at random in the lead up to the event. Good Luck!

What does a VIP ticket get you?

    Can they be bought normally?

... ok so i'll be along to this, but i wont be in the toon till 11pm on the friday.

Obviously you have people selling tickets, but the way they are going on, it sounds like there won't be a pay on the door option cos of it 'selling out'.

Do they mean selling out of cheaper tickets, or selling out full stop? If so, i'll see about getting a ticket organised.

    Good to hear Brid!

I don't think Digital will completely sell out but our guys have nearly sold out their individual allocation of paper tickets (£13 w/ no BF).

You will be able to pay on the door, providing of course we don't have a freak surge in clubbers due to Freshers falling on the same night. We've tried to reminded 'the wider public' out there that Newcastle will be very busy that evening so can't guarantee everyone entry without a ticket.

Worst case scenario just give me or Mick a call if you get stuck in traffic or running late getting into NCL.

Cheers mate. Looking forward to it now :) Would hate to get all the way there and be forced to stand in a long queue with members of the general public etc.

    Bring it on!

Exactly 1 week until Digital Society takes over Digital Newcastle and it's shaping up to be another big one! Extra production will be installed later next week so you can expect the trade mark DS 'laser show' alongside an all star DJ cast one the night. Paper tickets have all but sold out so move quick to guarantee entry. The countdown officially begins!

I hope once I've paid the bills this month i can afford to come as this is the first month my lass is on Maternity pay at the lower rate. Might even drive like the last one to save coin as we're getting kicked out our house on the 10th Oct since the bastard landlord wants to move back in :(

Homeless, skint and with a 8wk old child.

If can go I'm getting my lass to stay at her Mams and staying out for at least 3 days as I fucking need a proper session.....

Haven't been to Digital in a while like either.

It's all about coin though.... I have to pay everything at the mo so it's difficult justifying rinsing half your wage on a night out..... Im doing my best though

Fuck the recession. Nappies, food and baby clothes are at the forefront of my economic downturn....
