    Toon Army Supporters.....

....have already snapped up over 40,000 season tickets

Only 3% have not renewed their season tickets

Wonder how many Sunderland will have next season?

Bri > Your saying its generous in another post of Wonderland to give tickets to Schools / Job Centres and the likes ??

The only reason that they did this was because they couldnt and didnt fill there ground last season to an extent where freebies werent needed to boost the crowd !

Decent teams with decent support regardless of leagues etc dont give away tickets in the way that Sunderland did !

I have paid £435 for my season ticket for next season.

Even if we don't win anything but play football the way we have done for the past couple of seasons then it will be money well spent IMO:D

Afraid I'd have to agree with Bri on this one.

It's the same in any business though, they charge what they can get away with. Plus remember the players can take quite a big share of the blame for the ridiculous wages that they demand

    True.

Just dont like the way they're pricing the proper fans out of the game. That's why St James has got quieter over the years.

I agree they are businesses.....it just seems that newcastle have been caught out too many times takin advantage of their supporters :(

which, to be fair is a shame....

cos i will admit now, ragardless of wot av sed (all in jest) newcastle are a CLASS supported team as we are...north-east is PASSIONATE about the football....

    its a good thing.

i just feel your board are a little dodgy like wen it comes to takin piss.

    There just greedy bastards !

And again regardless of what ive said in posts there just after lining there pockets with gold !

I think that Steve Gibson at Boro is a very good business man - he's a young ish lad and always poured money into that club thru thick and thin - there's not alot of chairmen that would of went through what he has there !

I was priced out of season ticket after Newcastle's first season in the Premiership as i couldnt afford the then summit like £200/300 for the Gallowgate End :( :(

I had had a season ticket before that from the 1988/89 season till that season :(

True in parts Lee, but things like SJP being an all-seater, plus the movement of fans around the ground meaning all the mad cunts not setting next to each other anymore, all add to the atmos problem.

To be fair as well, if we did not have all the well off fans in the corparate areas then we would not be where we are now in terms of going in for the best players in the world. etc. So don't knock them.

he is without doubt one of the few real football fans left as chairmen within the premiership, football comes way before money for him. :)

I still got a couple of juvenile ticket for a couple of matches in the Champions League last season. Just made sure that I had a shave before I went, the people on the turnstiles aren't that bothered, too many people to get in. You should try it next season Dave.

Thats rubbish, well sort of!!!! Sunderland have given away free tickets to schools etc for as long as I can remember, fair enough, not as many as they did last season but the policy has always been in place!
