To make a stand or not?

ok i start my new job tomorrow as a legal secretary. however the fascists that i work for are insisting i take my tounge stud out. do i make a point of leaving it in as they are being unreasonable, or do i wear my clear stud which is hardly visible?

on the other hand, i have been expressly told it is not in keeping with company policy.. and by doing either of the above i may risk disciplinary action and this is before i've even started the job???

or shall i just bow down to the fascists and take it out? :D

    answers before midday tomorrow please!

i know seems like the sensible option, just i really really want this job.

when telling me i had the job it was mentioned and i did agree to take it out. I just don't particularly fancy getting off on the wrong foot, can't understand why its so much of a prob for them.

if all lawyers are stuck up arsey twats like this bunch, i can't wait to be fully qualified!

you accepted the job as is... you'll have to live with the desicion. Maybe after a few weeks of them seeing how good u are, then start to wear the clear one... then occasionally wear the normal one... let them get used to it...

not so simple, the piercing would close up partially in under a day. the tounge heals very quickly.

i re-pierced it myself once after a particularly heavy weekend where i lost it  :p, not a pleasant experience! haha

if youve already agreed to take it out then do it. if not then it will portray you as untrustworthy and sly. no employer wants that from an employee. take it out if ya want the job. if you really want to work for facists that is ;)

If you want to keep the job, take it out. Once you are a bit more established in the company, maybe you could take the issue up then. It's all very well having principles, but if they stop you doing other things you want then what is the point?

Take it out for a bit m8, then ask if you can wear it after you get to know people a bit better. It’ll be worth paying to get it pierced again if you enjoy the job.

why not mention to them about the tongue healing quickly and in a day its almost closed up and the fact you have a clear one that is hardly noticeable they might reason with you but they might not. be ready to accept that too. as long as you are polite and put your point accross well you shouldnt get into trouble for asking

yea, that seems like a good way to do things. but you dont want to get off on a bad footing, so if it goes against you, accept it. they will see such 'anarchy' as plain disobedience, and im quite confident if it is seen like that, then you can consider that job one of the shortest you've ever had.
