Substance This Friday May the 1st at Camp David, Graham Hedley and Gareth Hocking

This Friday (the 1st) sees Substance kick off the bank holiday weekend by welcoming two GHs to the Camp David dj booth, Graham Hedley and Gareth Hocking,

As usual it’s free entry all night 8pm-2am and the Substance residents will be on hand to warm-up/down and bridge the gaps between the guests. So if you’re looking for a good party that won’t cost the earth this bank holiday head on down.

Graham Hedley has been dj’ng for almost 20 years now and has really evolved with the British house music scene from the breakbeat rave sounds of Moving Shadow and Reinforced in the early nineties through to the American Garage sound of the mid nineties to the Daft Punk, Dj Sneak, Mark Farina and Derrick Carter sound he champions today.
Having played at Arcane and Planet Earth in the mid nineties to spots in Edinburgh and various other clubs around the UK Graham has cultivated a sound of his own that takes in aspects of all the genres he’s heard over the years but are all underpinned with an element of disco/funk, he is an avid sample spotter/collector (proper anorak).

This Friday Graham will be playing alongside me early doors in a Hedley brothers deep house face off that should be a giggle and bring out the best from both of us, there’s nowt like a bit of sibling rivalry behind the decks :cool2:

Later on we have Gareth Hocking stepping up to provide a heavier techier sound, Gareth will be well know to most of you as one of Newcastles finest Breakz and D’n’B Djs playing at nights such as Curves, but for Substance Gareth is going to show his house and techno side that he cultivated during his involvement with Newcastles infamous Resistance night.

    Substance Residents:

    Gary C
    Stu Hedley
    Shannon
    Glen
