This week we are super excited to welcome US DJ/Producer Mr Blake Jarrell to the cast so without further ado here is a little on Blake:- "Blake Jarrell is definitely someone to look out for in the future..." says John Digweed, Live on KISS FM after playing Blake's bootleg remix of James Holden's "I Have Put Out the Light." Blake Jarrell's production and remix work has been signed to some of the best labels across the globe including 3 Beat Breaks UK, Release Records Canada, Proton Music, Looq, Arabica, and Nascent. Blake has steered cleared of being cornered into a specific genre by embracing production techniques all across the board, from sweeping, lush pad work and melodic soundscapes to grinding, heady stuttered and glitchy percussion work right down to throbbing, floor-filling electro basslines. This has gotten Blake's work noticed by the upper echelon of electronic dance music DJs and artists such as Sasha, John Digweed, Jon Lisle, Matthew Dekay, Sandra Collins, Pete Tong, Hybrid (who featured Blake's track "Okoboji" on their recent KISS FM mix), James Zabiela, and all the other usual suspects. Blake hasn't stopped at producing, he has held a 2 year DJing residency at New Orleans' most prestigious nightclub, Ampersand, opening for countless big name artists. He continues his work here in Chicago having already headlined Smartbar and played clubs such Soundbar and Vision after only living here less than a year. Blake is currently involved in several remix projects, collaborations, and original works and can be heard out on most nights in Chicago's electronic music hotspots.
