    virtual dj'ing....

    Hi,

I'm looking for some cool mp3 based mixing prog. I remember someone mentioning one a while ago but I can't find any reference to it now!

Does anyone know the best one you can get off net?

Yup.. otherwise known as an Audio Hoohickey :)
Crasherkid..as i said before, if u need another card i got one spare.. going very cheap - £10 deal for my SoundBlaster AudioPCI 128.

Anyway.. the most used and known MP3 mixing prog is 'Virtual Turntables' by Carrot Innovations - www.carrotinnovations.com. It's over 3 years old now and only seems to work properly in Windows 98, but the results you can get from it are amazing
If you're interested in this I suggest you watch the site of a newer and FREE version of this - Digital Turntables - www.digitalturntables.co.uk

PCDJ Red is looking good.. i've yet to test it out, but i have an opportunity to try it out sometime soon

Just had a play on atomixmp3. Gotta say I didn't like it much as I want to be able to do the beat matching myself.

Im off to buy another sound card this weekend. :D

Another toy to keep me sat at my pc.

I wonder if I could patch a midi device in to control one of these programs, its a bit shit having to use the mouse to do stuff.

Foundation use a peavey midi contoller to contol the lights that would be perfect.

PCDJ Red runs in conjunction with the Numark DMC-1 controller - hardware CD mixer control which you use to control the decks in PCDJ - I think it works with other programs but I'm not sure which ones - hence the reason I'm gonna try and test it when i go to Consett sometime soon

And Mr Revel.. no one said it was gonna be easy to learn this prog.. it takes practice, just like vinyl mixing... or mixing in any format for that matter :)
