    Talk Talk Broadbean

anyone else with these useless fuckers, ive had them since 8 oclock this morning and even though its "free" broadband its fucking shite. im menna be on 8mb connection but im getting the speeds youd get off a 1.5/2mb connection and these are webpage downloads not bit torrent.

ive heard nowt but bad press from them anyway. gonna give them 1 month to sort their shit out, if i see no improvement theyre getting dropped

All the companies are doing it now, talk talk, orange and even sky.

If you want a good internet service you have to pay for it

Have you enquired as to how far away from your local BT exchange you are?

Cause if you're miles away no company will be able to offer you big speeds like that

Whats your download speeds like during the mornings? Say from about 8am-12pm?

Thats about as off peak as it'll get, best time to measure your true speed with ADSL :)

not too good tbh, kicking around the 200kbps area, these are downloads off webservers. ive tested it on adslguide.org and it was the same as a 2mb line. im not settling for their shit either cos i know im close as fuck to the exchange and their initial tests said id get atleast 6.5mbps

You have been on a connection for 4 hours.

It can take 48 hours to fully stabalise. Sometimes even up to a week.

It's still using a BT line at the end of the day...

dont be so quick to blame your ISP!

And its free so i cant believe you have the audacity to comlain

  like i said im giving them a month, but its been a shit start, everything so far has been crap, espesh setting up personal space and trying to connect to it with ftp software. ive heard nowt but bad press.

that stabalisation times normally bollocks. my mate gow got connected with BT 8mb after being with pipex and he was downlaoding stuff 3 times as fast as me and he lives further away from the exchange.
