You are a total pillock aren't you? Aside of the fact you saw it on Richard and Judy, when it was all over the papers last week, they are put on to measure the amount of waste you don't recycle and eventually remove waste disposal from the council tax and charge you for it..

I'm well aware of what they're for you pillock! It's the fact the council don't tell you they put them there and the obvious fact that if I don't like my neighbour I can go and put whatever shit I want in their bin! Thus lowering my tax and increasing theirs! Magic!

How about you put your bin in your back yard like most normal people? It's also not about how much you throw away, it's how much you recycle.. you won't get charged any more than you would paying full council tax now.

I think you'll agree that doesn't remove from the fact that only Portugal and Greece have a worse rate of recycling than the UK in Europe, that's net recycled, not the amount in your bin, if you go to Germany as I have several times this year you'll see the difference in public attitude towards the environment is glaring you in your face all the the time.. UK waste removal policy is a disgrace..

The wet paper point in your letter seems rather limited in the scheme of things, fair enough it may affect the league tables, but like with hospital leauge tables we shouldn't be concerning ourselves with competitiveness.. we should be tackling the problem at large.. the cost to the consumer won't be affected by how much wet cardboard is in their bin as they will hopefully be putting in this in recycling bins at no extra cost.. or at least that's what happens abroad and in theory will happen here..
