    course not you have the right to remain silent.

    but if its beneficial to you to say something then your better off, as silence can be as damning as saying something, especially if you say nothing previously and say loads in court.

    although you can be ordered by the court to be a witness. as far as i am aware.

    If you don't say anything, Jack Bauer will normally shoot you somewhere and put pressure on the wound or give you electric shocks from the mains or kick your face in until you talk.

    I know this doesn't really help but rather than be dragged through shit I'd rather tell the truth in a statement.

    At present i dont think its beneficial to the case, i was asking primarily as the police state 'I have to come' when in fact i am under no obligation to attend - il attend if the outcome is what i think itl be, if not then i wont attend
