Really enjoyed this mate, but there's only one thing that I think if you improved on it, would make a massive difference!

Your beatmatching is spot on, but I reckon you could have started most of your transitions earlier. For example, the mix into Halflight could probably end on 16:13 of your mix instead. Mix into track 5, could end on 30:24 etc. So that when the transition has ended your going straight into the new track, such as a short breakdown, bassline drop, whatever. Or if the outro of the track is fairly sparse then you can usually drop the bassline of the new track halfway through the transition... Just my opinion like, but it means that there's always something happening in the mix, you know how awkward it is dancing to just a kickdrum, and you could lose the dancefloor etc etc

I'm not saying my mix is perfect like, but you'll notice when a major element of the outgoing track ends, a major element of the incoming track kicks in, and if you done that your mix would flow beautifully.......................imo.

Anyways, that paranoid track is class, I'm going to buy it now. The tracks with the acid weren't my thing, I'm into trancey pads and stuff but it was a good listen, something a bit diffferent. :D

Nice mix as usual! It starts off energetic and stays that way throughout. The last mix you did was a bit unstructured imo, this one isnt. Your mixing is spot on but if i was to be pick fault id say a few mixes could be a slight bit tighter - but thats just being picky! :)

    Good stuff!

Areet Stephen. As usual, legendary feedback :cool2:

I tried ending the mixes at the points you have mentioned above, but it just sounded too dry when the other tunes dropped out. I also tried mixing them earlier, but felt like there wasnt enough space between B - Lines and melodies etc. I guess its just a case of personal tastes and styles like you say :)

Everything on the mix is edited on Ableton and burned to CD so i can be mixing tunes together for a longer period of time, and so that some of the tunes are a bit more DJ friendly if you catch my drift.

Really appreciate the feedback mate. Downloaded yours yesterday. Gonna sit in the Garden with a bifta and give it a whirl now. :chill:

Tyson have you ever looked at mixing your stuff in key? for the type of stuff you play (melodies) i reckon you could get it sounding wicked.

imo its not something that should be used all the time but its definitely good if the tracks are a bit deeper and tuneful

    try this

obviously most people know which tunes go together but if you get so many new tracks then it becomes pretty hard to get to know them all inside out

Aye mate, ive seen that on 3digital and it does look really helpful. Ive always liked the idea of mixing in key, i mentioned something about it on NECL a few months ago. Like you say though, its definately something that shouldnt be used all the time as i guess it would limit what you tunes you could mix together.

I just imagine that having a set of tunes in exactly the same key for a mix would be like having loads of guitarists jamming melodies over the top of eachother. You could get some awesome blends with B - Lines aswell. I suppose in theory, making a totally new B - Line that would sound like it was just one. Then theres Key changes, as if you were putting the mix together as a chord progression over the hour. A minor to C to G etc.

But at the end of the day, i should just stop ranting bollocks and put out this doobie as its far too strong :)

you can move keys or from major to minor with every track, you dont have to just stay in the same on all night

tbh its a proper geeky thing to be getting into
