TV is wank and has been for years.

Do yourselves a favour and give it up for 6 months, I've not had a telly for over a year now and I don't miss it at all.

You can get anything that is worth watching online minus the adverts.

You also get to be a smug bastard about not having a TV when the licensing people call round. :D

those that brag about not watching tv, do so because they are making the point of being above the mindless drivel that masses watch.

If you just want to cut out the adverts... buy a tivo - the picture quality is better.

A TV sucks time out of your day in a way that a downloaded episode or Lost etc or a film on dvd never can.

That is what I want to avoid, not the content as such.

    If you get me?

Not exactly true. I've downloaded full series before and been sucked into sitting in front of the screen watching one after the other as the day flies by.

It's just a question of being disciplined (or not as the case may be). Doesn't really matter if it's tv or downloaded stuff.

    not really also.

When I was a kid we didn't have a TV as my parents didn't want me watching that drivel... as I got older I wanted to watch the drivel so I bought a TV.

Whether youre watching the shows on your computer or on a TV it's the same thing.... if your will powers that weak I imagine you're just as susceptible to browsing the net for hours on end ;)

I watch about 3 hours of video per week.

The internet is my job, that doesn't count. :D

    its for watching movies!!

but the reason i don't watch tv, is because its to inconvenient theres never anything on when i want to watch it, or i miss episodes of stuff so can't carry on watching the series.

I find it better to have it all on the portable harddrive so i can watch it whenever and whereever i want.
