This has nothing to do with intolerance?

Hashem had just revealed himself to an entire nation for the purpose of healing/perfecting the world... Upon this revelation a segment broke away and started rebelling against the l-rds will and thus jepardizing man's future.

This has nothing to do with religious intolerance? This was about ensuring a future for the Jews and the devine mission they had been given.

What you seem to be saying is that if a few people from one not-at-all-special tribe in the desert a few thousand years ago had worshipped their god instead of yours the world would have ended?

And it says a lot about the power of your g-d that he felt so threatened by a model of a cow and had to get moses to do his dirty work on the killing front

DO you not tire of these juvenille posts?

You know the logic behind the words so why trivialise it?

British history is littered with rebelious movements that are struck down by the establishment, yet you consider these justified (and even celebrate some of the more brutal events)... You're a typical anti-religious crusader... You hold religions up to a completely different standard to yourself.

Noones disputing whether or not those events happened, I am very much questioning whether the omnipotent creator of the universe could really be arsed to intervene if a few insignificant creatures dance naked round a model of a cow.

This is just a bit of fun...I was also consdering the bit where the G-d turns someone into a pillar of salt for a mere glance the wrong way

The real argument against existence of a god is the probability gambit - that whatever came before the universe could've been simple or complex, and life is the most complicated thing we know. Evolution can explain where life on earth came from, but not god, becuase if he evolved then he'd be an alien. Therefore we're faced with the possibility of a spontaneous formation of a being capable of creating worlds and granting prayerrs, which can only be described as ludicrously unlikely. The universe coulnd't have existed forever, because if it had, everything would be at the same temperatre.

If you can think of a good argument against this, you will win a templeton prize of well over 1 million quid, and you'll also have a best selling book. If you can't, I shall continue to think your belief irrational :)

    It's hilarious:

Obviously any religious book that likened, oooooh I don't know, homosexual sex to an abomination would need to be restricted as well.

So was I, and there's a serious message here. It is absolutely and abundantly wrong to take 5 year old children, and exploit childhood gullibility to instill fear of some eternal burning torture to tie them to the teacher/parents superstitious beliefs.

Maybe it comes from a fear of having wasted their Sundays in church when they could've been having sex.

I'll take my chances with hell....I've called god a cunt, so I imagine I'll be first in line for eternal damnation
