Anyone prepared to spend £2k on a tv has either won the lottery, or needs to get out more.

I'm sold on projectors, but I don't watch that much TV.

For 2k you can have a mint home cinema setup, proj, screen and speakers.

Im almost settled on: Sharp LC45GD1E

    Full HDTV res: 1920 x 1080

Be able to grab for about 2.5k.

I was tempted by projection kits but dont really have the room tbh!

Yup, and there is a lot of setup.

The end result though is that I have a 3.5 meter HD screen in my living room. :D

    Amazing or what!!!

You simply cannot beat HD displays!!

Have you got HD sat running? If not take a look at the Humax: HD-2000 with at least an 80cm dish and get them HD feeds flowing :D

    Nah, I don't watch telly.

I've got a pretty good collection of HD content though, about 30 films now, lost, 24, prison break etc.

I watched matrix reloaded last night, I also put the dvd on to compare and dvd now looks totally wank, it's odd how you get used to the detail so fast. I think I will be binning off all my dvd/low res divx soon.

you can get a philips 37" ambilight at Fenwicks but i am not sure if the offer is still on.

Fenwicks have great after sales cover as norm.

    forgot to say its 1699

for the record you would need a room about five meters long to use that 45" tv correctly

the rooms about 5m-6m long i think!

the way i had planned to put it, the tv would be about 1.5m-2m away...so starting to wonder if I need to get a smaller telly, or re-think the way im gonna have the room?!
