Mathew Ridley, chairman of Northern Rock when it went bust (and lost the taxpayer around £4 billion) got £205,000 last year from us because he owns the Blagdon estate.
Lord Vestey takes £1.2 million from us. His companies paid £10 in tax for the year.
The Duke of Westminster (one of the richest men in England) got £820,000 given to him every year. The same is true for all the big landowners in the UK
Meanwhile the media continue to pump out benefit scrouger stories. But not these scroungers though. You couldn't make it up

so its the poor man paying for the benefit scroungers? be they english or immigrant

the rich avoid lining the pockets of the workshy, yet the working class seem happy to fritter away their hard earned into the pockets of the freeloading

i cant get my head around the apathy here...

yes the poor man is paying for the benefit scroungers. What you can't get your head round is that the scroungers are the rich , banks, farmers and big corporations. Little people fiddling unemployment/disability/housing benefit is a sideshow. What Vodaphone avoided in tax last year is enough to cover it all.
I'm not defending benefit cheats, just saying their contribution to the Great National Disaster is minimal.

Forks is such a liberal loves every minority going apart from the rich minority. He has no problem with any race rolling on into the UK via channel tunnel but if a British company wants to choose which country it pays tax in he is up height. Live & let live Forks.

It's not just the channel tunnel. It's ok if they fly in as well.

Well the one thing the article doesn't explain is how the money they are given is spent. Its also carefully construed - for example the Lord Vestey comment about paying £10 went back to the '80s before the tax laws were changed.

Still though, it certainly does make you think and on the face of it the land payments seem excessive.

Banker, nurse, Tory & Daily Mail reader have 10 buns.
Banker eats 9. Tory tells Daily Mail reader: "Watch out, that nurse is after your bun"
