    DIGITAL SOCIETY

    Friday 1st April 2011
    WAREHOUSE 34 (Hoults Yard) feat:

    JOHN 00 FLEMING
    JON O’BIR
    MATT HARDWICK
    ACTIVA
    GARY PROUD
    MK X

Friday April 1st 2011 sees Mixmag’s ‘Trance Club Night of the Year’, Digital Society put its signature on one of the region’s most unique underground Venues - Warehouse34 Newcastle.
For many years now the North East has mourned the loss of true 6 hour club events that encompass all that is Trance music. The friends we made, the lives we lived and the feelings that we once had have since become distant memories, lost in the abyss of Clubland. That is however, until now...
Digital Society are here to present the revolution. We bring together the truly faithful and those that are curious, for an event that will define North East Trance events in 2011 through a true hedonistic night of clubbing passion, not seen on these shores since the days of your beloved Foundation.
Evolving as one of the most forward thinking Trance brands in the UK, Digital Society has already played host to global superstars such as Above & Beyond, Marcus Schulz, Sander Van Doorn, Gareth Emery, Judge Jules, John O’Callaghan, John ‘00’ Fleming, Andy Moor, Cosmic Gate, Menno De Jong, Simon Patterson and Sean Tyas and so many more, Digital Society NE is set to deliver a profound night of musical debauchery which will firmly cement itself in Newcastle’s clubland legacy! So open your minds to the future of the North East Trance scene as you submerge yourself in the lasers and satisfy your musical desires with the electronic sound that is Digital Society.
See you there. Gary & Mik - Digital Society NE

Are there any interior shots of the warehouse kicking about? Can only find the ones Idene took of the three Habits that were held there, and they dont show much of the venue itself.

    Get the fuck in

Heard a rumour about this and hoped and prayed it was true!

Surprised at the venue mind, but DS is a fucking immense addition to Newcastle's clubbing rota

With DS rolling into town, i bet all other trance nights are now officially shitting themselves!

This is QUITE some news. If it takes off it could almost be like the return of Promise!

Plus, it saves hard working, responsible citizens, the sight of 20+ geordies looking like extras from Dawn of the Dead on the 7.15 leeds to newcastle train each month ;)

its one big room that can hold about 700 people.

anything close to a 1000 and it would be way overfull.

canny space for trance type events but the 1 room set up is very restrictive for multi room music policies unless you use the think tank

who is the newcastle "resident" going to be then then ...do we need to sharpen the detective skills for that bombshell lol

Melt's about spot on with that figure l reckon. And l reckon this is one of the reasons why DS have taken a punt as it's a similar size venue to MyHouse. And as they've way outgrown that they've branched out at Hoults and obviously hope to have a similar response up here!

Obviously a lot of us make the journey down to Leeds all the time for DS, and to be able to force people 50 miles north to go to a night that's 'theirs', you need a very new and specific angle, and the pull of a warehouse style party will definatlely do that. Can see this being absolutely massive. I'm expecting the first one to be about end of march time? January seems too early and there's already DS Leeds at the end of feb.
